We live in a crazy world

We live in a crazy world, and there is absolutely no denying that. This world is not meant for us Christians. We were made for an eternity in heaven where there will be no more suffering, and every day will be singing the praises of the Lord.

But until then, we are here on this earth to shine the light of Jesus and love others. Unfortunately, we still have to deal with the sins and everyday messes.

There will be many things that bother us. That’s a great thing! We should be bothered by injustice, tragedy, poverty, unequal rights, and oppression. These are the very same things that Jesus stood up against during His ministry.

Being uncomfortable by things that bother us allows for growth in our faith. If we weren’t bothered then we would never feel the stir for change. By praying and seeking wisdom from God we can be used as His tools to bring about something greater than we could imagine. By God’s will we could be doing something for the greater good.

Galatians 5:25-26 states “Since we live by the Spirit, let us keep in step with the Spirit. Let us not become conceited, provoking, or envying each other.” This means what we shouldn’t allow is for things to let us become undone. That’s when we then lose our self-control, and we can no longer allow God to work through us. We can become so consumed with whatever it is that left us feeling this way that we leave no room for God to do His work.

We then hurt our cause more than helping it when we let things undo us spiritually and emotionally.

This doesn’t mean that we shouldn’t be passionate about things. Jesus led with conviction, but also with love and understanding for the people around Him. He held on to His beliefs firmly without wavering and didn’t let the world around Him change that.

Stand up for what you believe in. Let things that bother you inspire action, just don’t let it consume you to where you can no longer be effective while doing the Kingdom work.
