Central Site Manager – Kim Brashear
Ms. Brashear serves as the Eve Center Central Site Manager overseeing the ladies who volunteer at that site and welcoming the clients who come through the doors for service, making sure they get what they need. She started working with clients as a volunteer in April 2017 right after graduation and became the SEED coordinator at the end of 2017 to oversee the Spring 2018 session of SEED while continuing to work with clients until she was hired as manager in July of 2018.
Kim worked in the corporate world for 37 years mostly in management roles and statistical analysis but was able to leave that world to start her own business as a Health Coach in 2015. “For as long as I can remember, Matthew 6:33 has been the scripture that motivates and moves me on my path. I recently looked it up in the Amplified Bible: ‘But first and most importantly seek (aim at, strive after) His kingdom and His righteousness [His way of doing and being right–the attitude and character of God], and all these things will be given to you also.’ ”
By the grace of God, given freedom over the bondage to an eating disorder 10+ years ago, she passionately sought after a career that would help her reach other women who suffer. She volunteered her talents at City Link and Life Learning Center which both worked with those less fortunate and in need of gentle guidance and encouragement. She also brought her experience, strength and hope to Crossroads church becoming a member of a pilot group that would offer a healing program for women struggling with eating disorders and body image issues. She has come alongside numerous women working towards their overall health and well being which starts with their relationship with God. As one who has experienced much of what the Eve Center women have, and through Christ’s help, Kim is proof that God does use our suffering to help others. He truly does heal all wounds and makes us stronger through our suffering.
When not serving at Eve Center you will find her enjoying being active in whatever way she can with regular physical exercise through running, Yoga and strength training. She loves spending time with her grandkids as much as she can, picking them up from school twice a week to hang out and do something fun. She enjoys creating things of beauty through beading, basket weaving, Diamond Dots, crocheting, etc. She also enjoys travel and spending time with family and friends playing and doing life together.
