Fight In the Light
“The light shines in the darkness, and the darkness has not overcome it.” John 1:5
When you have a big secret to hide it seems like you’re carrying the weight of the world on your shoulders. Maybe it’s shame, fear, or worry that makes you feel like you need to keep it hidden deep inside.
You fight tireless to get through it on your own, but only dig a bigger and bigger hole of frustration and despair. Some days it feels like there is no escape, and you live in a constant state of defeat. It is exhausting.
But bringing things into the light by exposing your hidden battle you can find victory!
When you bring your troubles out of hiding and give them over to God, you no longer carry that burden alone.
God will not only fight with you but also fight for you!
“For the Lord your God is the one who goes with you to fight for you against your enemies to give you victory.” Deuteronomy 20:4
There isn’t anything God doesn’t already know, and without exposing the truth by bringing it into the light, you are ineffectively fighting in darkness. God wants you to bring things to Him so He can illuminate the darkest corners, and so you Fight in the Light.
The enemy is hiding in the shadows, waiting to pounce on you like a lion (1 Peter 5:8).
So how is this done? Pray, read God’s word, find a trusted friend to confide in, or ask a member of your church for guidance. Bring your secret out of hiding. You might have to face the consequences, but take comfort in knowing God will not abandon you.
There is NOTHING God cannot overcome. Even if you think your secret is too horrible to confront, God will be there to fight through it with you. By taking the first step of confronting the secret you are able to find the help and healing you need.
Stop walking blindly in the darkness where the enemy is prowling. Walk in the light and let God shine your way.
