Our
Services
We
provide free, faith based peer counseling by women to women
age 13 and above seeking to regain their mental, emotional and spiritual
health. The Eve Center is
intentionally designed to create an environment where non-judgmental
listening, sharing, encouragement and prayer support take place.
“We’ve been where you are.”
Our national motto says it well. Each of us
has learned many life lessons. We have a wealth of information and
experience to share. We have been hurt, often beyond repair, or so we
thought. Because of the grace of God and the support of others, our lives
have been changed. Now it is time to walk with other women who have
“been where we were.”

“These two verses sum it up for both the clients and the volunteers.
2 Corinthians 1:3-4 says: “The
God of all comfort, who comforts us in ALL our troubles, so that we
can comfort those in any trouble with the comfort we ourselves have
received from God.” I feel that it is not necessary for us to
have had a terrible calamity to have been comforted. We have all
received forgiveness and healing which is fabulous comfort.”

Gerry's Place - Lending Library and other resources
A. The lending library is one of the special
features of the Eve Center. Our volunteers and clients may borrow a book to work
on together in session or for self-help. Often a client wishes to read or do
pages of a workbook around the reason she came in for help. Sometimes a peer
counselor desires tools to assist her is caring for her clients. Using these
resources deepens the education and growth for each person.
Policies for using the lending library:
- Complete
a registration form in the lending library notebook.

request a $10.00 deposit to cover some of the cost of replacing a book or
tape if it is not returned. This can be refunded at any time as long as the
borrowed resource has been returned.

Gerry’s Place
Gerry was a client of mine. She was in her third marriage, a
survivor of child sexual abuse, abused by her first husband
and currently in an extremely difficult situation.
Gerry was very co-dependent, she had no concept of who she was
or how to have an opinion of her own.
During one-on-one counseling sessions, she discovered she
could like herself,
God truly did love her and she indeed had interests she wanted
to pursue.
Gerry could be short for
Teresa. She might be white, black or Hispanic. She is in her
twenties or in her sixties. She is on public assistance or
lives in Indian Hill. She rides the bus or drives her BMW. She
is any one of us.
