FREE
Book by Brian Tome
We might not be as free as we think we are. Even
worse, we may have been duped into believing that a "balanced" life is
the key to happiness (nope) or that a relationship with God is about layering on
rules and restrictions (it's not).
The Bible says that "Where the Spirit of the
Lord is, there is freedom." Not fear. Not guilt. Not morality. Not even
religion. Freedom.

Gerry's Place - Lending Library and other resources
A. The lending library is one of the special
features of the Eve Center. Our volunteers and clients may borrow a book to work
on together in session or for self-help. Often a client wishes to read or do
pages of a workbook around the reason she came in for help. Sometimes a peer
counselor desires tools to assist her is caring for her clients. Using these
resources deepens the education and growth for each person.
Policies for using the lending library:
- Complete
a registration form in the lending library notebook.
- We
request a $10.00 deposit to cover some of the cost of replacing a book or
tape if it is not returned. This can be refunded at any time as long as the
borrowed resource has been returned.

current organizations in greater Cincinnati who assist with certain concerns.
This is available for the volunteers and clients needing to connect on topics
beyond the scope of the Eve Center.

notebook for review.

We offer anyone who comes a cool, bottled water, a tissue and some individually
wrapped candy along with a hug and smile of encouragement. We need each other
and as the national motto says ‘We’ve been where you are.’ This is the
reason for the warm reception you receive at Gerry’s Place within the Eve

Gerry’s Place
Gerry was a client of mine. She was in her third marriage, a
survivor of child sexual abuse, abused by her first husband
and currently in an extremely difficult situation.
Gerry was very co-dependent, she had no concept of who she was
or how to have an opinion of her own.
During one-on-one counseling sessions, she discovered she
could like herself,
God truly did love her and she indeed had interests she wanted
to pursue.
Gerry could be short for
Teresa. She might be white, black or Hispanic. She is in her
twenties or in her sixties. She is on public assistance or
lives in Indian Hill. She rides the bus or drives her BMW. She
is any one of us.
